Taylor, Grace

-Miss Taylor of Los Angeles, came to Chandler last fall, and bought 40 acres of land a mile south of town.  Several times she thought of selling it, but decided to hold on to it.

This spring she hired Mr. Yarbrough, an expert in cotton, to put in twenty acres of cotton, and put the rest in alfalfa.

Last week, she paid a second trip to Chandler to see how her crop was doing.  She found it in good shape, and better than average for the district.

In Los Angeles, she had lost her job, and her mother was planning to build a home.  She decided not to contract out the work, but to lead the home building herself.  She had the house done in six weeks, and saved a $175.

She plans to come back to Chandler for the harvesting and take charge.  (Chandler Arizonan 5/30/1913)

-Miss Taylor went with Mrs. Crenshaw, Dr. A.J. Chandler, and Mr. Loftus to the Granite Reef Dam on Saturday afternoon and came back that evening.  (Chandler Arizonan 5/30/1913)
