L.B. Armstrong is described in the 1917 Chandler City Directory as a farmer. Lyman B. Armstrong appears in the 1918 Chandler directory as a clerk for S.W. Cotton Co. and living at Suhwaro Hotel. In the 1919 directory, he is a farmer again and in the 1920 and 1921 directories, a rancher.
