Registration to Vote

-Mr. James W. Heffner, who is on the registration board, and is in charge of the Chandler district, has received notification from the recorder of the Maricopa County to open registration books for all those in Chandler who are qualified to vote at the next regular or special election.  Those desiring to do so should fill out the usual forms which can be gotten at his home north of town.

Any man who registered in 1912 need not to reregister.  The major difference this year is women of 21 years of age or older are allowed to register.

Registration closes on May 1, 1913.  (Chandler Arizonan 4/4/1913)

-30 people have registered to vote so far which will add to the about 70 people who voted in the last election.  (Chandler Arizonan 4/25/1913)

-Mr. Heffner says 51 people have registered to vote, but not everyone eligible to vote has registered.  The total number registered is 128.

The main purpose for registering is for the wet and dry election which there is still no date.  (Chandler Arizonan 5/9/1913)

-According to the Republican, out of 6,000 new registrations to vote about 2/3s were women in Maricopa County.  Lesser interest among women to register to vote in Yavapai and Cochise counties.  (Chandler Arizonan 5/16/1913)
