Wet and Dry Election 1913

-Maricopa County will have a vote on if the county will be dry or wet on May 2nd.  People need to register by May 1st with J.W. Heffner to vote.  (Chandler Arizonan 4/18/1913)

-The date for the election has not been set.

Until the date has been set a vote in a city can decide for now where it stands.  (Chandler Arizonan 5/2/1913)

-May 29th is the set date for the wet and dry election, and election officers have been named.

Chandler district:

Polling place: School House, district 57

Officers: H.L. Peterson, inspector

Jeff Duncan, judge

H.D. Clark, clerk

George Vines, clerk

Gordon Hunsaker, marshall

Higley district:

Polling place: School House

Officers: Frank Attwood, inspector

Charles Atwood, judge

L.H. Sorey, judge

Daniel Dryden, clerk

Leonard Glaze, clerk

W.H. Knox, marshall  (Chandler Arizonan 5/16/1913)

-Chandler has gone dry by a vote of 43 to 27.  Only Phoenix decided to go wet in the county.  One ballot was thrown out due to bad marking.  (Chandler Arizonan 6/6/1913)
