04: The Hohokam Society
The Hohokam left no written record of their time here. Archaeologists discovered pottery, tools, canals, ballcourts, homes, and community buildings. These artifacts and remnants of architecture from the Hohokam are still abundant under our homes, streets, and parks today.  Oral tradition from the modern Akimel O’odham and Tohono O’odham communities tells us even more about their culture. From these resources we know the Hohokam were great engineers and farmers.
