He appears in the 1931 and 1932 Chandler (Arizona) City Directories as a gardener. His wife was Elizabeth. They lived at 138 N. Dakota (rear).

The 1940 Chandler Resident Directory said Fred Day was a gardener at the San Marcos Hotel and that he lived on the north side of West Boston beyond Dakota, with the phone number 108. Also living there were William Day and his wife Kathleen, and Albert Day.
