Arizona's One Year Anniversary

Green and gold has been chosen as the festival colors, because of the green fertile soil, golden sunshine, and the minerals to be found here.

Festival will be held on the 14th and 15th of February.

On the 15th, a pageant will be held with an illustration of early Arizona history with pictures.  Also a parade of floats showing various home lives of Arizona tribes, and warrior men will don war costumes, and tell of the early days.

"Aztec Sun Fete," will recall the story of the meeting of Cortez and Montezuma.

State officials from all over the state will meet with the legislature, governor, and board of supervisors.  Vice-President elect Marshall will be on hand.

A human flag of 250 school children in costume will sing the rejoicings of the citizens.

All of Arizona will be there and all are welcomed.  (Chandler Arizonan 2/14/1913)
