He appears in the 1940 Chandler (Arizona) Resident Directory as owner of C. C. Harden Blacksmith & Welding. He and his wife Jessie lived a mile south and one-quarter mile west of Chandler.

Burtrum Harden, who apparently also lived there, was an assistant blacksmith.
