Chandler Traditional Junior High

After a four million dollar remodeling project, this school reopened in 2009 and was housed in the building on 191 W. Oakland St, originally home to the Chandler Unified School District’s first junior high school that opened in 1952. The students were required to wear uniforms and received more homework than classical schools. The building has been used for preschool, kindergarten, family literacy, employee day-care, and an alternative school for junior high and high school students with behavioral problems.
