-Mr. Halstead was elected to the board of directors for the Chandler Chamber of Commerce at the meeting held Monday.  (Chandler Arizonan 5/9/1913)

-Mr. Halstead's sister, Mrs. L.S. Coffey, is visiting for a few days.  (Chandler Arizonan 6/20/1913)

-Mr. Halstead has helped organize the Valley Investment Company with other Chandler men to build homes here.  (Chandler Arizonan 8/1/1913)

-Mr. Halstead is mourning his pet, Bob.  Bob was a bobcat that he rescued, and kept at the lumberyard.  The pet didn't like children, and any dog that got too close would end up injured.

Bob broke his chain and escaped.  The next day, Mr. Halstead and Mr. Freeman found him with a broken leg, and shots in his shoulder.  It is believed that he got to Mexican town where he caused fear and was shot.  Mr. Freeman had to put him out of his misery.

Bob was brought to the yard as a baby by Mr. Halstead and Foreman Brooks.  (Chandler Arizonan 8/1/1913)

-Mr. and Mrs. Halstead are leaving next week on a lengthy vacation.  Mrs. Halstead will be going to Kansas City for a visit with Mrs. Hawthorne, formerly Miss Liggett, who visited last spring.  She will be gone for several months.

Mr. Halstead will go to the coast, and then up to Seattle for a visit amoung the lumber mills.  He will be gone for a month.  (Chandler Arizonan 8/1/1913)
