He is listed in the 1916, 1917, 1918 and 1919 Chandler City Directories as a rancher or farmer. The 1919 directory adds a wife, Annie A. The 1920 and 1921 directories show them living on N. Colorado Street and does not include an occupation for him. The 1923 and 1925 directories gave C. R. Gordon the address R. D.Box 35.

Mr. Gordon was elected vice-president of the Chandler Egyptian Cotton Growers' Association and will serve on the board of directors.

He motioned to have the by-laws passed as is for the Cotton Growers' Association.  He also seconded a motion to have the board meet with the Mesa association to get a good deal on them ginning their cotton.  (Chandler Arizonan 5/30/1913)

Mr. Gordon was at the meeting of the Chandler Chamber of Commerce meeting on Tuesday.  He spoke in favor of getting the deeds to their land from the Chandler Improvement Company.  He spoke how owning the land would give them votes at the Salt River Valley Water Users' Association, and could try to get better access to water for the southside of Chandler.  (Chandler Arizonan 5/30/1913)

Mr. Gordon went with the other directors of the Chandler Egyptian Cotton Growers' Association to Mesa to meet with the Mesa Cotton Exchange.  They wanted to make an arrangement to either gin or erection of a gin to no avail.  They then met with the Chandler Improvement Company.  (Chandler Arizonan 6/13/1913)

Mr. Gordon and Mr. Johnson was chosen to travel the valley to sign people up for the Chandler Cotton Growers' Association and the gin.  It was decided at Monday night's meeting of association.  (Chandler Arizonan 6/20/1913)

Mr. Gordon reports having thrashed 120 bags of barley off four acres.  From three cuttings of grain and alfalfa hay, he has secured 50 tons from eight acres.  The two latter cuttings gave him about 12 tons to the cutting.  The first cutting of grain hay netted him 27 tons.  These figures are from the baler.  This would have gotten him about three tons per acre.  People called in question the truth of the statement, and now Mr. Gordon has had it baled to prove it.  (Chandler Arizonan 8/1/1913)
